1. Design the architecture, infrastructure set up, deploy and manage applications on AWS based on customer needs

2. Work closely with the development teams to gather system requirements, new service proposals and large system improvements and come up with the infrastructure architecture, leading to stable, well-monitored, performant and secure applications.

3. Design next-generation application strategy using cloud-native and serverless architectures

4. Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize the application performance using solutions like database indexes, Varnish, Memcache, Redis, CloudFront etc

5. Automate deployments (CI&CD) and other repetitive tasks using Shell/Python scripts or tools like Capistrano, Jenkins, CodeDeploy etc and implement auto-scaling and automated backups

6. Implement configuration management for development, test, and production environments using tools like Chef/OpsWorks, Puppet, Ansible etc

7. Control infrastructure costs by continually looking for opportunities to right-size servers and services

8. Manage permissions, backup and performance across different databases like MySQL, MSSQL, Postgres etc

9. Act as technical and cultural change catalysts, accelerating learning journeys and the progressive adoption of the DevOps best practices and techniques

10. Innovate, audit, and monitor application and infrastructure and identify opportunities to improve performance

11. Manage, mentor and provide technical guidance to the team.
